About Westminster
The borough of the City of Westminster is in the centre of London, and occupies a small area next to the City of London. It is famous for containing the West End, and also contains many of the other popular tourist locations, such as The Houses of Parliament, and Buckingham Palace. It is also home to the best shopping areas in London, from Piccadilly to Bond street and Oxford Street. It is made up of the previous boroughs of Paddington, Westminster and St Marylebone. As it is located so close to the City of London, the City of Westminster is home to a number of financial institutions which have failed to find room in the former borough. Since the City of Westminster is located so close to many of the political areas of London, there are a number of important tourist locations found in this borough.
