This year ABC Selfstore are celebrating 25 years in business. We have been providing our customers with the very best value and service for self storage in London for quarter of a century. Since April 1993 - when we opened the doors to our first storage units in Camden - it’s been quite a journey!

Since opening our York Way store in 1993, we’ve grown - opening two more stores in Wandsworth and Southwark.

We have always stuck to our values here at ABC and pride ourselves on recruiting like-minded people to our store teams. Our Golden Rule - "we treat all our customers how we'd like to be treated ourselves." is the core on which our business is built on.

We’re super-proud that 25 years on we’re still a family run business and ‘Corporate Free Zone’.

At ABC Selfstore we care about our customers and keeping their belongings safe and secure at all times. Over the years we’ve remained innovative and In 2015, following substantial investment in all three storage locations ABC had brand new CCTV, Access Control and Alarm/Site monitoring systems.

We listen to our customers and are always striving to improve our service. Our star ratings on Google Reviews and customer Feedback Friday Campaign are confirmation of our determination and success at ABC.

Not only do we aim to give great customer service, we want to keep the ABC team smiling too. We are very proud to announce that ABC Selfstore have won the TINYaward for Happiest Organization in the consumer products & services sector for 2017.

Over the past 25 years we’ve broken new ground in:


  • We were one of the first storage companies to have a website (see the original here). Ours went live in 2001, and since then we’ve been at the forefront of several other technological online firsts.
  • We were first to accept payment by credit/debit card and later by direct debit - a first for self storage at the time!


  • Opening Hours Moving to 6 days a week opening, then 7 days and then extended hours on a Thursday and 4 Bank Holidays and 24hr access at selected stores.
  • Our teams started helping business storage customers with despatch . Much of the industry followed suit.
  • Our friendly staff are renowned by our customers for their super-helpful service. It’s no accident. We’ve always been quite particular about the people who work for us, that they share in the philosophy of our Golden Rule: "we treat all our customers how we'd like to be treated ourselves."


  • Only pay for the days you stay: Since day one we’ve never required notice on move-out and we don’t charge for a minimum term. ABC Selfstore customers who no longer need their unit don’t get stung for the remainder of a week or month.
  • We set the trend when we introduced out Price Promise. It guarantees that we’ll beat any like-for-like quote,so you’ll always get the best deal at ABC Selfstore

Little Extras

  • Free WiFi has become the expected norm. We introduced it for our customers way back in 2007 - before the Smartphone revolutionised needing to stay connected. Most Cafes and Pubs didn’t even have it then.
  • Free Van Hire - getting your stuff into storage used to mean a car fit to burst or hiring a van. We were first to offer ZipVan.
  • Complimentary Refreshments - it might seem like a small thing, but free tea, coffee and treats have been keeping our customers rejuvenated since we first opened.
