ABC Selfstore is on York Way in Camden and right next to the neighbouring borough of Islington making it an ideal location to store your stuff if you live in either part of London.
If you’re in the popular borough of Islington - perhaps you’re a Gunners fan and are visiting the local area or you may live and work there, then the best way to get to us at ABC Selfstore in Camden is to jump on the nearest tube and get off at Caledonian station which is just a short walk from the York Way store.
The borough of Islington is located on the north side of the river Thames, and is found in the area known as Inner London. This area has a number of districts of differing economic status, with some areas very poor indeed, and others wealthy. It is close to Camden. The borough is famous for its two prisons, Holloway and Pentonville, the latter of which has played host to a number of famous people throughout the years. There are also other interesting districts in the borough, including Kings Cross, Highbury, Finsbury, Tufnell Park, and Islington itself.
Pentonville is famous not only because of the famous prison there, but also as the birthplace of John Stuart Mill, the philosopher. Many people also do not realise that Lenin lived in this area in the first decade of the 20th century. Holloway also has many claims to fame, being a high-class shopping area with a range of independent shops down the main Holloway Road. Holloway is also well known as being the location of the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal play home games. The Nags Head portion of Holloway Road is also an important shopping and business centre.
Kings Cross is a popular tourist attraction, which has many museums and artistic foundations in the area, such as the Gagosian Gallery. The area is home to the London Canal Museum and the Courtyard Theatre, as well as the new location of the British Library. The original name of the area comes from an unattractive monument to George IV, raised in 1835. It was demolished after only a decade, but the area had been rechristened Kings Cross, and the name remained. Kings Cross St Pancras is the location for the Eurostar train terminal, and many shoppers and commuters travel through the areas close to the station.
Islington is relatively far away from these locations, and its main source of income is through shopping and commerce. It has been a popular market location for around 300 years, with many types of food and vegetables available. Islington is also the location of a number of authors, and many have set their books in the borough or town. The old Arsenal football club park has now been redeveloped into a garden, gym and swimming pool, and apartments in this old park have now been priced at more than £300,000. The former site of the Highbury film studio is now Athenaeum Court.
