We know what you’re probably thinking, but no, it’s nothing to do with what got photocopied at the office Christmas party. In part 6 of our Luxury items for storage series we’re talking Big Game Fishing Hardware – and not merely rod and reel – this is kind of hardware you could use to land yourself a Swordfish, Marlin or Sailfish. David (our lovely MD) says his luxury item, “…would have to be a Bertram 700 Deep Sea Sports Fishing Boat.”
We think that tower is collapsible (otherwise you’d need a mighty tall unit to store it). Who knows, maybe one day when he retires we’ll see David pootling down the Thames through central London – though we’re not sure what the rules are around Game fishing by boat in the Thames. At the very least you’ll need a rod license from the Environment Agency. Though this kind of hardware might be a bit overkill for the kind of species you’re likely to catch out of Old Father Thames – so best stick to the more traditional fishing grounds off of the East Coast of the USA. And of course – we’d always recommend you do your Big-Game fishing responsibly – such as using the circle hook.
