In part three of our look at Upcycling and reusing the typical things our customers keep in a self storage unit – we take a look at reinterpreted furniture from Rupert Blanchard at Styling and Salvage. We think it’s top drawer stuff. And middle drawer… And bottom drawer…
We’ve seen how the original iMac can be given a new lease of life as a fish tank. And how the worst of your 7″ Vinyl collection can do a more useful job as a clock, coasters, or bookends. But what about the more substantial things… like furniture, and in particular those dull old chests-of-drawers that are too good to chuck out, but just don’t fit into your home?
Well if you’re looking for some inspiration and if carpentry is your thing you might ‘re-imagine’ them. Or you might let someone like Rupert Blanchard re-imagine them for you.
One of Rupert’s specialities is Upcycling old drawers into hybrid chests. We think they are fab, and we’re not the only ones. In 2011 he achieved Best British Product in the British design Awards.
Hmmm. That’s got us thinking… the ABC logo could be a bit like a chest of drawers… It might be time to get the power tools out.
