London – Where the property is hot!

Rising House Prices

You can’t pick up a paper without reading about the UK property market and how house prices are continuing to soar across the country, with an amazing 4.1% rise in August this year.

In London, it’s hard to believe that typical property values are currently 8% higher than their 2007 peak, making homes in London the most expensive in the world. And with too much money chasing too few properties, coupled with the launch of the Government’s new Help to Buy scheme, it’s likely that the fever will continue to rage.

Yet you don’t have to be house hunting in a golden postcode area within Westminster, Kensington or Chelsea to be looking at paying a premium. According to new research from commercial real estate experts CBRE, it is estimated that the £2,000 per square foot average pricing will spread across the Capital by a kilometre every three years!

So with space in London a rare and precious commodity, it makes sense to consider whether the space in your home is being utilised to its full potential? It simply doesn’t make sense to be cluttering spare rooms with non-essential items which then renders the room useless for any other purpose. At £2,000 per square foot it’s a pretty expensive place to store Christmas decorations, the wedding dress, boxes of photographs and the seasonal holiday kit!

Many of our customers have rented an affordable unit at one of our self-storage facilities in either Camden, Southwark or Wandsworth to effectively use the space as a ‘spare room’ in their home. Attracted by the flexibility of the service and ease of access, it’s a great option for people who want to maximise space at home, while still being able to enjoy access to their possessions.

So, if you want to free up some valuable space in your home, why not contact ABC Selfstore to see how we can help as we have plenty of affordable storage space across London.
