For the first 16 days of December in the run up to Christmas the ABC team at Wandsworth will be collecting for the Wandsworth Foodbank.
The Garratt Lane store will be taking any spare tinned and canned food goods that its self storage customers or those who are passing by wish to donate to families in need in the Wandsworth area.
All of the food goods that ABC are accepting must be tinned or canned so they do not perish and in particular the Wandsworth Foodbank is most in need of baby food jars, toothpaste, tinned fruit/puddings/potatoes and tinned meats or fish e.g. meatballs.
Wandsworth Foodbank is a store of food, donated by members of the public, which can be given to people in crisis. Those who are referred to the foodbank are met by a trained church volunteer who can chat with them about their situation, signpost other possible help, and provide them with a bag of food judged to last them three days. Wandsworth Foodbank is entirely supported by donations and volunteers.
Leading songwriter Stuart Townend whose songs are sung in churches around the world will be performing on the 13th December at 7:30pm at St Mark’s in support of Wandsworth Foodbank. For more information and to book a ticket click here
