Firstly, do you need extra space?

Many people have not even heard of self storage until they actually need extra space and then once googled realise that it’s everywhere, especially in London. Most recently self storage has been in the spotlight on popular television shows such as BBC’s Britain’s Biggest Hoarders and Storage Wars – only in America!


If you find yourself needing extra space a self storage unit can be the ideal solution. Many of our customers are moving house and have not yet bought another home and so need somewhere to store all of their belongings for that in between period. Business’s frequently use storage units to keep extra stock if the ‘back room’ is full and some people also run their online business from them – so there really is a great variety of reasons why you may need some more space in your life.

What can you store?


We don’t want a long list of what you are going to keep in your storage unit, in fact we don’t really want to know at all – unless you fancy sharing that is! As long as none of the items come under our WHAT NOT TO STORE policy then you can fill your unit up to the brim with all the items you wish.

Where to go?

Once you know that you need some extra space and a self storage unit is the way to go then you need to find a suitable location to rent a unit in. ABC has locations in Camden, Southwark and Wandsworth so it might be that you live or have a business close to one of our stores or you may go past them on your commute to work making it convenient for you to store with us.

Get a quote

Next up is to get a quote – we have put a simple 5 step guide together for you – not that you will need it as our website is super user-friendly and getting a quote really is as easy as ABC.

Get Insurance

Everyone has to have insurance for their goods that they are keeping in self storage as this is standard industry practice and so our staff will go through the details of this with you so all your belongings are covered and you get the best price.

Need a van?


So you have booked your storage, now all you need to do is get it to one of our three locations. If you qualify, you may be entitled to free van hire with ZipVan.

We also have several recommended removal companies that have been helping customers of ABC to move for years and we are more than happy that their service will be of the highest standards and very competitive.

How to pay?

We accept all forms of payments, although monopoly money is frowned upon! We will let Erienne tell you exactly how to pay in this video…

Packaging your items safely and securely is very important and each of our stores contains a packaging shop which will cater for all your needs.

All our packaging is also online so take a peek at our comprehensive list from tape to 3-4 bedroom house moving kits – we have every aspect covered.


Move in


When you arrive with all your stuff our helpful and friendly staff will let you know all there is to know about navigating around, how to use the lifts, opening hours, security and most importantly will show you to your unit. There are free tea and coffee making facilities as we know it can be thirsty work and everyone deserves a break!


How long do you have to stay?

It all depends on you – you could stay a day or for ten years (it’s already our 20th birthday)¬†as we are completely flexible and can work around your storage requirements. If like some of our customers you decide to stay and upsize (or downsize) we will move you to a more suitably sized unit of you choice.

Customer service


We pride ourselves on our customer service and all of our staff are hand picked by our store managers who live and breath our golden rule of treating our customers how we’d like to be treated ourselves. All the ABC team are trained to the highest standards and know their stuff when it comes to self storage. Each member is trained in every aspect of self storage, including size estimation and insurance.

Saying goodbye?

If you do decide to leave us, we will be sad to see you go but unlike some companies we won’t charge you for any extra days – you just pay for the days you have stayed with us and no notice is required.
