Solving the problem of fashion week…

As we emerge from the frenzy of London fashion week, we feel inspired by new looks, excited by colour combinations and tempted with new textures and materials. The only problem is what to do with our old favourites, our lucky dresses or even the special skirts that we’ve not had the occasion to wear yet?

This year the London catwalks were packed with memorable moments and real inspiration. This season’s must have colours were lovely French blues, pomegranates and spring green, while some of the most eye catching collections included jackets, trousers and flared skirts with delicate embroidery and jewelled details to give a sense of chic and class. These catwalk eye-catchers wooed the crowd that looked on with envious eyes.

Other highlights included Burberry’s autumnal capes and Barbie inspired collections from Moschino and pleated skirts from Christopher Kane. One of the collections that drew the greatest attentions was Yves Saint Laurent whose thrilling collection did not disappoint with towelling suits, with cropped tops, gathered in tightly at the waist combining demonstrated a traditional mischievous streak.

London Fashion Week did not only see the spring/summer 2015 offerings from top designers but it also saw its fair share of dramas this year. From set malfunctions to near fatal accidents, with a technician falling through the roof, it truly was a memorable occasion.

But where does it leave us? Well for many it gives us the opportunity to look at our own wardrobes and think whether it’s perhaps time for a little update or a fresh new look. But what to do with last season’s clothes? We can’t all be Kate Middleton with endless wardrobes so we have to be a little selective or look at ways we can keep our classics while also freeing up space for new items.

What works well is to organise your clothes into the right groups, whether that’s everyday clothes, work clothes, going out clothes through to your occasional wear or even activity clothes whether that’s a ski jacket, wet-suit or ball gown. Once organised into your own collections, find a suitable storage space to keep them in great condition.

At ABC Selfstore, with self-storage facilities across London in Southwark, Camden and Wandsworth, we have plenty of space to store all the clothes that you don’t wear every day. Our affordable self storage units offer convenient and easy access to the items stored and allow users to free up space at home.

With additional space at your disposal, you can have all the fun of fashion week and not worry about having to find more space for the special items – as together we’ve got it covered.
