New Year Events – Camden, Southwark and Wandsworth.

If you haven’t decided quite where or how to celebrate New Years Eve yet – never fear – ABC Selfstore is here. We’re not suggesting that you come down and hang out in one of our self storage units when the clock goes bong – no, no no, – we’ve got the lowdown on a whole host of events to make that moment of 2014 becoming 2015 unforgettable.

Being London based we’ve focussed on the locations of our three stores in Camden, Southwark and Wandsworth. And as we like three’s (A-B-C 1-2-3 and all that) we’ve selected three events from each borough… New Years Eve – to some it is just another day, to others it is a chance to party hard, whilst for most it is time to put down some markers to make the next year better than the last. Whichever reason you’re celebrating, here are our suggestions on where and how to welcome in 2015 – in Wandsworth, Southwark and Camden:

Southwark New Years Eve Events

London Fireworks

For the first time in 2015 the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Firework display is a ticketed event. The plumb locations along the south bank, or Victoria embankment would have set you back £10 (that’s if you’d got your act together whilst tickets were on sale – up to December 15th. But there are ways to see the sparkling spectacular at slightly further range – that won’t cost you a penny. For Southwark’ers – it’s Southwark bridge. Although – be prepared to get friendly as it is likely to be a bit of a squeeze.

If you’re up for a bit of a walk, then the Evening Standard have more useful suggestions on how to see the big bangs and bright lights for nowt.

Posh Nosh

The hustle and bustle of Fireworks or the hot and sweaty of a Camden club might not be to everyone’s taste this New years Eve. So for the more discerning party-goer we might suggest the Southwark Rooms Bar & Restaurant. You might bump into Tom Collins in the Cocktail lounge – the perfect place to begin your NYE celebrations, whilst the well sourced menu is well priced and mouthwatering all at the same time.

Find out more and see some menu examples here.

London Blitz Party

Theme party’s are all the rage, so here’s one that’s oh, so very London. Taking place at the Street Arches, Great Suffolk Street in the heart of Southwark – put on your best bib and tucker for a Wartime themed evening of swing, sandbags and searchlights. Tickets are £40 pp – find out more at the Blitz Party website.

Camden New Years Eve Events

The Proud New Years Eve Burlesque Ball.

Proud Camden is a quirky bar by day and a popular nightclub/cabaret venue by night. Founded by South East entrepreneur Alexander Proud, it owes its quirkiness to the fact that it was formerly a Horse Hospital. The building – still complete with stables (which can be hired for parties) is part of the Stables Complex – built by Pickfords to serve the horses pulling their distribution barges along London’s canals.

The Camden Proud Ball is definitely one for grown ups – with Cabaret performers and Burlesque dancers as well as the usual DJs and Live Music.

Tickets are still available and start at £29 – which seems very reasonable for such an entertainment packed night out. You can book tickets on their website.

Camden Head – NYE Party/Comedy Club

If you’re ending 2014 on a budget, then the Camden Head Pub (100 Camden High St.) has plenty of entertainment – including dancing until 3am with DJ Pete – all for a fiver admission.

If you’re feeling a little more flushed – opt for the £15 ticket you’ll also get entry to the Camden Comedy Club – and Chatback Comedy’s NYE spectacular. A 5 act extravaganza including Prince Abdi, Matt Green and Andy Storey.

It’s a pub. At New Years Eve – so another 18+ event. You can book tickets for the party here, or go the whole hog with the comedy club tix here.

Camden Pub Crawl

There’s nothing a certain age-group of people like more on New Years Eve than seeing how much alcohol they can imbibe.  Couple that to a stroll between Camden’s venues and your getting the hang of the basics of a pub crawl.

This regular New Years Eve event finishes its mission in Koko and takes in some of Camden’s finest venues en route. Tickets are £39 from the CPC webpage. Plus – here’s a little promo to whet your appetite, before you whet your whistle.

Wandsworth New Years Eve Events

Darling, You look Gorgeous

It seems themed parties are all the rage this year. Or should that be next? Oh. New Years Eve is so confusing. Anyway, down in Wandsworth at Bar 366 Earlsfield they’re having a red carpet themed party. Tickets are £15 a pop and include a complimentary glass of prosseco if you’re there between & & 9pm.

So who will you and yours go as to get lapped on the red carpet? Brangelina? Kimye? Jedward? If it’s your cup of tea you can book tickets here.

Away from the Hoi-Polloi

If you’re looking for a NYE Party in Wandsworth borough that’s a step up from the norm, then the aptly named “Smart New Year’s Eve Party” at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park might be your tipple. Tickets don’t come cheap (at £150 pp) – but it is billed as the most sensational party in the capital.

You get a 5 course banquet, Aero and acrobatic dance acts, entertainment from live bands and DJs and a lavish Venetian backdrop and live streaming of the Fireworks. The party goes on until 3AM too and don’t forget your mask for the masquerade. Get all the details here.

Or just down your local

You might prefer a quiet night. Supping a few sherbets with your mates in the local. If pubbing it is more your style then view London’s guide to the top bars and pubs in the area might be helpful. You can find it here.

Whatever you decide to do – have a terrific New Years Eve – and here’s to a fantastic 2015 – from every one at ABC Selfstore.
