Brunch bites in London

The early bird catches the worm, or so they say it’s such. Many of us head out early to make sure we squeeze every last second out of our visit to the ‘Big Smoke’, however this often means the dreaded stomach rumbles creep in much sooner than anticipated. So where is best to call in for a quick bite to eat before we continue on our merry way?

That mid-morning hunger may creep up on you unawares and you find yourself in unknown territory. Never fear, we’re sure you’re not far from one of Gail’s Artisan Bakery. With multiple locations across the city there’s a hearty brunch close by to satisfy your hunger.

Bread and brunch go hand in hand and with a philosophy that ‘bread is beautiful’ you can’t go far wrong choosing Gail’s Artisan Bakery. They don’t take bookings so just pop in and find a table.

Alternatively, you’ve spent the early morning journeying across London to the iconic central location of Covent Garden. In a bid to avoid squeezing like a sardine into the infamous station’s lift you may have taken the brave decision to climb 193 steps of the spiral staircase and now you’re in need of refuelling. Balthazar is the prefect choice with a range of menu options that span everything from the full English breakfast and American style pancakes to the lighter option of porridge, fruit salad or granola.

For a lot of people, when you think of brunch, you often think of eggs. So, if you’re looking for an egg-cellent brunch make your way across to Soho and secure a table at Jackson & Rye.

They have eggs every –which- way! ‘Benedict’, ‘Royale’ and ‘Florentine’ all make an appearance on their extensive menu.

Here the staff embrace the 80’s theme with (let’s call them interesting) hairstyles and eccentric clothing choices. The menu has almost anything you could wish for, from smoothies to full English and cereals, the list is endless. This brunch experience is not one to be rushed so make sure you allow plenty of time to savour every moment.

We hope a few of our favourite brunch offerings have inspired you to embrace the mid- morning meal and fuel your day the right way. After all brunch is the most important meal of the day.
