New Year’s Eve In Camden

New Year’s Eve can be epic, or it can feel like the world’s biggest anti-climax.

But when it comes to the big NYE celebration in good old Camden Town, if you get it right, it could well be the best one yet – not including the mega hangover – but you can worry about that in 2018.

If you’re thinking about having a legendary New Year celebration in Camden that doesn’t completely bust the bank, us lot at ABC Selfstore have a tidy little itinerary for you…

Camden Stables Market

During the festive period, the former horse hospital turned top-notch market has an amazing buzz to it, not to mention to the smell of roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and world foods.

Start in the late afternoon or early evening with a stroll around the various market stalls and soaking up the atmosphere. Then start proceedings by grabbing some grub and a mulled wine or a beer from one of the many food stalls on offer. Nice.

The Black Heart

Strut on down the main drag towards Camden Town Underground Station checking out all the weird and wonderful characters on display, then dive down the alley opposite the tube to kick-start the NYE drinking session at The Black Heart. Sporting the theme of gothic American dive bar and playing a host of rock and roll classics throughout the ages, this is the perfect place to grab a booth, have a few craft beers and get into the party mood.

The Lyttelton Arms

Right across the road from Koko stands the mighty Lyttleton Arms, a happening boozer that’s frequented by uber-trendy, clog wearing ASOS workers. The interiors are colourful and quirky; the drinks list is enormous, the music is always lively, and if you’re looking to line your stomach before the late night antics, the wood-fired pizza here is well worth sampling. Right on!

The Blues Kitchen

Many legendary blues artists, new and old, have trod the boards at The Blues Kitchen over the years, and this delta-inspired juke joint plays the best blues influenced jams in town; the atmosphere is electrifying too. This NYE in Camden, The Blues Kitchen is hosting a Tarantino Special – playing the best tunes from all the films produced by Hollywood’s hardest hitting writer slash director. It’s open until 4 am, it promises to be the best New Year celebration the Blues Kitchen has ever hosted, and early bird tickets are available now – so don’t miss out, man.

When you’ve told everyone within spitting distance you’ve loved them, staggered around the dancefloor for a while and officially welcomed 2018 into your life, it will probably be almost daylight. It will be the dawning of a new chapter, but of course, you’ll have a hangover to contend with first – so walk yourself up to The Woody Grill near the tube station for a load up of carbs and water before hitting the road and sleeping for what will probably seem like a whole year.

Whoever you are or whatever you decide to do, we hope you have the best New Year’s yet. And if you’re embracing a new start in 2018 or before and looking for self storage in Camden, give us a tinkle – we’ll be happy to help.
